FUTURE DIRECTIONS FOR NORFOLK ISLAND DISCUSSED
The Minister for Home Affairs, Bob Debus, today met with the Norfolk Island Chief Minister, Andre Nobbs, to discuss the future administration challenges on the island.
"I would like to thank the Chief Minister and other Norfolk Island government representatives for making the time to visit Canberra," Mr Debus said.
"The Chief Minister updated me on a range of matters of interest to the Commonwealth Government.
"We had a very useful discussion about my concerns with the Norfolk Island Government's current investment in the Island's infrastructure and the Government's plans to meet future infrastructure replacement.
The Ministers also discussed the arrangements underpinning Norfolk Air's new contract with Our Airline.
Mr Debus also informed the Norfolk Island Ministers that he's been considering governance issues and will keep them up to date with any developments.
