Minister for Home Affairs, The Hon Bob Debus MP

The Minister for Home Affairs is the Federal MP for the NSW electorate of Macquarie which covers the Blue Mountains and central west including Bathurst and Lithgow.
He was elected to Federal Parliament at the last election in November 2007.
Mr Debus served in the NSW Parliament as the member for Blue Mountains for 19 years, much of which was spent as a minister, including six years as the NSW Attorney General and eight years as Environment Minister.
The Minister has also worked as a lawyer, an editor for Angus and Robertson Publishing and a radio broadcaster for the ABC.
Born in Ryde, Sydney, in 1943 he attended Homebush Boys High School before going on to the University of Sydney to study arts and law.
